Water Coloring with a Beautiful Day stamp set!

Hello, I hope everyone is well!

Today’s card was created with a relaxing and fun watercolor technique. The Beautiful Day stamp set has big bold beautiful images that are easy to color in various mediums, I chose watercolor today. I love the fun font in the set for the happy birthday sentiment I needed for a birthday card for a friend. As you well know by now I love texture so what a great way to add texture with some water coloring and a touch of embossing.

Today’s card was created with the card base of Whisper White card stock measuring 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, next layer is a Balmy Blue cardstock measuring 5 1/4″ x 4 1/8″, the next layer is a piece of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper measuring 5″ x 4″. The top layer is a piece of Watercolor paper I used a large enough scrap to create the background and the focal point then once completed cut it down to a 3 7/8″ x 3 1/2″ using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The first step is to take your watercolor paper and an aqua painter, I wet the paper first then I used Pacific Point and Balmy Blue ink to create this blue background, I allow the water to flow pulling the ink in various directions then I used my heat tool to dry let it sit for a minute. Once dry then stamped the butterfly image using Versamark ink then embossed with Black embossing powder and heat set with your heat tool. I now used Lovely Lipstick ink and the aqua painter to color in the butterfly, once done I used the White Shimmer paint the end of my Aqua Painter and flicked over the entire piece to create even greater modeled kind of effect to the butterfly. I now used the Stitched Rectangle Die that measured 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ cut out the piece of Watercolor Paper then ran it through a second time to create a smaller rectangle measuring 3 7/8″ x 3 1/2″.

I now stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the set with Momento link, using paper snips now cut out your sentiment, I separated the words then glue the words to the upper right side of the butterfly.

Now wrap a few layers of White Bakers Twine around the Watercolor paper tying a bow to the right hand lower section. Using dimensionals adhere to your piece of designer series paper, now glue your designer series paper onto your piece of a Balmy Blue cardstock this will now be glued down to your card base. I colored a few rhinestones with the Lovely Lipstick Stampin Blends Markers, attached around your butterfly image, every card needs a little bling. Your project is now complete how fun was that!!

I hope you have enjoyed today’s project!
